The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region has undertaken a targeted rural livelihood intervention by adopting Nongspung A village, located in the Ri Bhoi District, as a designated poultry cluster. On 17th March, 2026, a major distribution programme was organized. During this event, a total of 1,000 poultry chicks were distributed among the beneficiary farmers along with 14,100 kg of poultry feed to ensure proper growth and productivity. Additionally, 80 poultry feeders and 80 poultry drinkers were provided to promote hygienic feeding and watering practices, thereby minimizing feed wastage and reducing disease incidence. Veterinary health supplements and prophylactic inputs were also supplied to enhance the overall health status and survivability of the flock. The Progarmme was attended by Dr Sandeep Ghatak, Director of the institute along with Dr Sourabh Deori (Senior Scientist & Team Leader), Dr P. R. Dutta (Senior Farm Manager) along with other technical and supporting staff.
